Local Attractions & Things To Do
The Rose Trail
The Rose Trail is a year-round, multi-use trail that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and fitness levels. This
trail offers the citizens of Rosetown and tourists a safe and secure designated area to walk, job, cycle or cross-
country ski their way towards a healthier lifestyle.
Communities in Bloom formed a Trail Committee in March 2002, and have been working in partnership with the
Town of Rosetown, community organizations, businesses and volunteers to design and develop a trail that meets
the needs of the citizens. The Rose Trail is approximately 6.0 kilometres in length.
Heritage Trail: Phase I of the trail is now completed. It begins at the Museum and ends
at the Prairie View Camp ground on Marshall Avenue. The Rose Trail Committee has planted a flower bed at the
beginning of the Trail in co-operation with the Museum Committee. A memorial bench was donated and has been
placed at the beginning of the Trail. An arch was constructed by the Rosetown Hutterite Colony to mark the
entrance to the trail.
Nature Trail: Phase II is located along Marshall Avenue from the Prairie View Camp ground to
Highway 4. A rest area was constructed along the Trail and six light standards were installed along Marshall
Avenue in 2006. There is winter hours for the lights, which will be from November 1st to April 1st from 6:00 am
to 9:00 am and 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and summer hours will be from April 1st to October 31st from 8:00 pm to
12:00 am. The rest of the construction is targeted for completion by fall 2007.
Heart's in Motion Trail: From Marshall Avenue crossing Highway 4 to the Cemetery, running south through the
Sports Grounds in front of Rosetown Central High School and ends in front of the Rosetown Health Centre. A
landscaped rest area is located near the sports grounds between the ball diamonds.
Seniors' Trail: From the hospital the trail will cross over Highway 4 at the cross-walk, proceed through the Pool
Park and along 5th Avenue to Lovett Park, the Rose Garden, though the trees north of Ridpath Road to join up
with Heritage Trail and end at the museum.
